Pressure Class

Class 300 Ball Valves

Class 300 Ball Valves are used for process plants, terminals and pipeline systems requiring Class 300 pressure-temperature capability. Use this specification range to match the requirement to the correct ball valve construction, seat system, material combination, end connection and project testing scope.

Pressure Class Selection

Class 300 Ball Valves: what to confirm before quotation.

Class 300 Ball Valves are grouped by pressure class rather than by a single valve construction. The correct valve can be floating, trunnion mounted, top entry, fully welded or DBB depending on the service.

Pressure class is only one part of the valve selection

A Class 300 ball valve must still be checked against design temperature because pressure-temperature capability depends on material group and the governing design code. Body construction, flange or weld ends, seat system and actuator torque must match the actual design envelope.

Class 300 Trunnion Ball Valve for the intended duty

For process plants, terminals and pipeline systems requiring Class 300 pressure-temperature capability, trunnion construction is often considered as size and pressure increase, while floating designs remain practical for suitable smaller sizes. Higher classes can favor forged construction, RTJ or butt-weld ends, and more detailed review of seat load, cavity relief and operating torque.

RFQ data for Class 300 ball valve

Send the applicable valve and piping specifications together with service medium, design pressure and temperature, line size, valve class, materials, end connection, operation and inspection requirements. This allows the manufacturer to avoid assumptions that can cause technical deviations later.

FAQ

Class 300 Ball Valves FAQ

What valve designs are available as a Class 300 ball valve?

Depending on the project, the requirement can be combined with floating, trunnion mounted, top entry, fully welded or double block and bleed valve construction.

What information is needed to quote a Class 300 ball valve?

Provide valve type, size, pressure class, material requirements, end connection, design pressure and temperature, media, operation, test requirements and the applicable project specifications.

Is Class 300 trunnion ball valve a separate valve design?

It combines the named specification with a valve construction or application. The final design still depends on the complete datasheet.
