F316 / F316L Ball Valves
F316 / F316L Ball Valves are used for forged stainless steel service for corrosion resistance combined with compact or higher-pressure construction. Use this specification range to match the requirement to the correct ball valve construction, seat system, material combination, end connection and project testing scope.
F316 / F316L Ball Valves: what to confirm before quotation.
F316 / F316L Ball Valves are grouped by material rather than by a single valve construction. The correct valve can be floating, trunnion mounted, top entry, fully welded or DBB depending on the service.
Material designation does not define the complete valve
A F316 ball valve combines the named body material with a separate selection for ball, stem, seat, seals, bolting and packing. Corrosion resistance, impact toughness, sour-service requirements and design temperature must be reviewed as a complete material system.
F316L Ball Valve in real project service
Material choice should be verified against the piping class and project material specification. Casting or forging route, heat treatment, PMI, NDE and traceability requirements should be stated in the RFQ when they are mandatory.
RFQ data for F316 ball valve
Send the applicable valve and piping specifications together with service medium, design pressure and temperature, line size, valve class, materials, end connection, operation and inspection requirements. This allows the manufacturer to avoid assumptions that can cause technical deviations later.
Match this specification to the valve construction.
This specification does not define the complete valve. Compare the requirement with the product designs below before RFQ.
F316 / F316L Ball Valves FAQ
What valve designs are available as a F316 ball valve?
Depending on the project, the requirement can be combined with floating, trunnion mounted, top entry, fully welded or double block and bleed valve construction.
What information is needed to quote a F316 ball valve?
Provide valve type, size, pressure class, material requirements, end connection, design pressure and temperature, media, operation, test requirements and the applicable project specifications.
Is F316L ball valve a separate valve design?
It combines the named specification with a valve construction or application. The final design still depends on the complete datasheet.
